Juneteenth 2025 Freedom
Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19, is a federal holiday in the United States that marks the end of slavery. It commemorates the day in 1865 when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced freedom for the last enslaved people—over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Known as America’s “second Independence Day,” Juneteenth is a time for honoring Black freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality. In 2021, it was officially recognized as a federal holiday, highlighting its significance in American history and culture.
